Naranag Gangabal Trek

The expedition is that the only trek in Kashmir which remains open most of the year. The trek is taken into account as a simple trek, due to the well established path and therefore the altitude which remains under 3700m asl. The trek passes through pine forests, meadows and reaches its destination at the dual alpine lakes (Gangabal and Nundkol Lake) situated at the foothills of mount Haramukh (5300M).

Day 1

Arrival. Reception at Srinagar airport/bus station.
On arrival at Srinagar airport or bus terminal , our representative will receive you and transfer you to the hotel or houseboat at Dal Lake, Srinagar for an overnight stay.

Day 2

Srinagar – Naranag – Trunkhol (3 hrs drive/ 5 hrs trek).
After breakfast at the houseboat, we drive to Naranag and that we pack our load on horses and begin our trek. Our trail a rather steep passes through the pine forest of Butsheri and thru the meadows of Bodpathri we camp at Trunkhol for an overnight stay.

Day 3

Trunkhol – Gangabal Lake (4 hrs trek).
We leave Trunkhol meadow and rehearse grassy fields. We camp at Gangabal Lake for an overnight stay. These are two lakes Gangabal and Nundkol situated at the foothills of Mount Haramukh.

Day 4

Day at leisure. Explore twin lakes of Gangabal and Nundkol or take a brief walk to a close-by lake of Kolesar.

Day 5

Gangabal – Naranag. (6 hrs trek). We leave Gangabal and Nundkol Lakes and trek through the meadows of Trunkol and descend to Naranag village through the pine forest of Bodpathri. Here ends our walking. We take our car and repel to Srinagar hotel or houseboat for an overnight stay.

Day 6

Departure day.
Our representative will drop you at the airport or bus terminal . Departure.
