Grahan Trek Overview

It takes 3-4 hours to reach Grahan from the Kasol bus top and hiking is the only option to reach Grahan. The Grahan Trek is marked with signboards by locals so that it becomes easy to reach there without taking much time. Most of the time this trek remains unexplored by travelers and trekkers.

Situated at an altitude of around 7500 feet is home to no more than 300 villagers and about 30-40 houses. Consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited in Grahan and travelers not adhering to it are either imposed a heavy fine or thrown out of the village. The only way to reach the village is by a small hike starting from Kasol and has no mobile network or ATM. You will find basic accommodation in Grahan village, either guest house or homestay run by the local community.
About Grahan Trek

Himachal Pradesh Land of “Snowcapped” & “Unmoving” thus, describing the “Snowladen Mountains province”) is a state in the northern part of India. Situated in the Western Himalayas, it is one of the eleven mountain states and is characterized by an extreme landscape featuring several peaks and extensive river systems.

The Grahan trek kasol goes through the deep forest through the small walking road giving you the enriching and super fabulous experience and the trees in the forest are dense and the trekking walkway is clean for trekkers and backpackers. The hospitality and the locals too haven’t done anything to spoil its beauty and they’ve actually mixed themselves into this site’s beauty and molded it according to this site.

The locals are super chilled people and much helpful and informative to trekkers and the tourists. The Grahan trek has the walking road goes side by side to the small hills and there are small stones being placed beside the sideways of the road so that the trekkers or the tired tourist rest on them for while.

Grahan trek has the breathtaking sceneries of the lush green mountains and the soothing effect to the eyes and simultaneously much needed to heart and soul of one’s mind. Grahan is a Spiritual village in Parvati Valley. Not so popular among travelers visiting Kasol, but a great scenic hike of 10km starting from Kasol.

 

Activities in Grahan Village

Day 1

Kasol-Grahan (9 KM) + 4 K.M Grahan Water fall

Arrive at Kasol Base Camp on your own by morning and complete the registration. An orientation session will be given by the chief organizer in the morning. It will cover information like rucksack packing, marching/walking technique, and general awareness about the trek route. The trek to Grahan village starts from Kasol, and one would roughly take 4 hrs-5 hrs to hide a distance of 9kms. The trail begins right before the bridge that falls before the Kasol central bus stand. The track is more or less marked-out with red arrows throughout, but still, there’s a good chance that you simply will stray, aesthetically.

During the hike, one would undergo dense forests intermittent with the sound of birds and therefore the buzzing of bees there’s one element that won’t leave you all the way- Parvati river. One would also cross two wooden bridges, and by the time one would encounter the second bridge, it might mark the halfway point of the trek.

It is only within the last 150 meters of the hike that one would start to ascertain the homes within the village and what a view it’s. Mostly the homes are inbuilt a standard way and a few of them are almost 200-250 years old. Roam around the village and play alongside the youngsters who are going to be found at every nook and corner of the village. At night, have your piping hot meal around the warmth of the bonfire while taking note of the sound of silence.

 

Day 2 Grahan Trek

Departure

The next day, after having breakfast, fix for climbing down and take in the mini fresh waterfalls that one would encounter on your way back to Kasol. Don’t forget to refill your bag with munchies as there aren’t many cafes on the way.

Hydration packs/water bottle

• A reusable water bottle- 1.5-2L easy to fit in your backpack.
Snacks
• Carbohydrates and protein-rich, healthy, and easy to consume snacks – Gud Chana, fresh and dried fruits, energy bars, hard-boiled eggs.

Weather Appropriate Clothing

• Warm and waterproof clothing for winters, wind, and waterproof jackets

A hat and sunglasses

• A broad brim, waterproof and sun protective hat, and sunglasses with light-colored lenses for great contrast and visibility in shades.

Sunscreen

• Sunscreen with SPF 15 or higher, reapply after every 2 hours.

A rain jacket or umbrella

• For warmer months, consider a compact travel umbrella, opt for a waterproof & windproof rain jacket for winters.

Day 1 - Kasol Camping -Chalal Hike

DAY 01: KASOL- CHALAL
Misty morning, tall trees, untouched hills, and a breath of fresh air – this exactly what Kasol is! Upon reaching Kasol and a touch of walking, reach your campsite.

Enjoy the greener and a happier space by the riverside. Take some rest and have your fill of breakfast.

Once you're up and prepared , explore the ‘Little Amsterdam’ while making our thanks to Chalal.

While a rehearse the lanes of Kasol, you'll notice many Israeli cafes and shops to shop for your souvenirs from.

Gradually, we'll walk towards, what's referred to as Trance and Psychedelic party village- Chalaal. this tiny village is tucked within the conifer dense forest.

The walk doesn’t take quite 2 hours hyphenated with breaks. One can sit at the top of the village admiring the sweetness of a fiercely flowing Parvati river.

Later within the evening, come to the camping site; dance the night away round the bonfire while having taste-buds teasing dinner.

Day 2 Kasol To Grahan
