2 Day 1 Night
Anjarle Turtle Festival may be a unique way of celebrating and enjoying responsible eco-tourism in India while taking the prospect to explore beautiful beach locales. The festival takes directly after the conservation efforts initiated at Velas by an NGO named Sahyadri Nisarg Mitra and therefore the Kasav Mitra Mandal Committee.
Anjarle, alittle village within the Ratnagiri district is where annually , tons of turtles of the Pacific ridley population come to get eggs. These are then put during a hatchery built by the locals on the beach and allowed to incubate naturally. Proper care is taken of those unhatched eggs until the time they hatch and baby turtles began for the ocean . When it began , such an initiative was a crucial step in conserving the lessening population of the Pacific ridley turtles. Even still, the festival offers an exquisite opportunity to know all the life around us and taking steps to conserve it. because the baby turtles begin of their eggs to later move towards the ocean , it’s an immensely gratifying moment to witness it.
